Slash Mark · free file converter
Drag.Drop.Converted.
Hold Ctrl, drag any file and drop it on a format in the ring that opens at your cursor. 247 formats, converted on your own computer.
How it works
One drag. That's the app.
- 01
Hold Ctrl and drag
Pick up one file or fifty, from the desktop or any folder. On a Mac, hold Option.
- 02
The ring opens at your cursor
Only formats that fit your files appear, so a photo never offers MP3.
- 03
Drop it on a format
Let go over PNG, PDF, MP4 or any other slice. Presets remember quality, size and pages.
- 04
Converted, next to the original
The new file lands beside the old one. Nothing was uploaded and no window opened.
Formats
247formats, no other software
Images, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HWP, e-books, archives, fonts, CAD and 3D models convert without Office or LibreOffice. Video and audio work after one click adds the free FFmpeg engine.
Privacy
0 bytes
uploaded.
Every conversion runs on your computer, offline. Contracts, ID scans and client files never leave it.
- No account, no upload, no telemetry.
- Online only to check for updates and fetch engines you choose.
- Results are saved next to the original file.
Stop uploading your files to websites you don't know. Convert them where they already are.

Questions.
Is SlashFileDrag really free?
Yes, for personal and commercial use, under the MIT license. No watermarks, limits or accounts.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is that safe?
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen doesn't recognise it. Choose More info → Run anyway. You can check the file against the SHA-256 list first.
macOS says the app can't be opened.
The macOS build isn't notarized yet. After the first try, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. To open the ring by dragging with Option, also allow SlashFileDrag under Accessibility.
Why do some formats need an extra engine?
Video and audio use FFmpeg, old Office formats such as DOC and XLS use LibreOffice, Kindle formats use calibre, PostScript uses Ghostscript, and LaTeX and similar use Pandoc. They're large, so SlashFileDrag downloads the one you pick only when you need it, in Settings → Engines.
Does the drag gesture work on Linux?
On X11, yes. On Wayland, drop files on the drop zone in the app window or use “Convert with SlashFileDrag” in your file manager's right-click menu.
How do updates work?
The app checks this website every few hours and shows a note in its sidebar when a new version is out. The Windows installer updates itself; the other versions open the download page.
Who makes SlashFileDrag?
Slash Mark IT Solutions. SlashFileDrag is built on Filee, the open-source converter by Myeonggu Kim (KnifeLemon), under the MIT license.
